DURSLEY LADIES RFC

I have loved spending some time with the fabulous Dursley Ladies RFC recently.

It was brilliant to hear some of the individual reasons why those involved are playing rugby and how much the club means to them.

WASPI WOMEN

My question in the Chamber today about the WASPI women across Stroud, the Valleys and Vale who continue to campaign both consistently and constructively.

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISBAILITIES (SEND)

As many of you will know, I have been raising SEND issues and concerns both locally with the GCC and nationally with Ministers for some time now having had many parents of children with SEND come to me to share their experiences as well as schools raising funding issues.

SGS BERKELEY GREEN UTC

SGS Berkeley Green UTC is a much-loved part of the Stroud district school family.

SNJ COLUMN

The first duty of any government is defence of the realm. I have always known that.

My dad is a military historian and my brother has only recently stopped serving in the RAF.

We are living in the most unsettled times since the Cold War and people are concerned.

BRIMSCOMBE MILL

Thank you to everybody who has contacted me both via social media and email asking me to help the Brimscombe Mill community organisations like the Long Table. I was straight on the phone as soon as I heard the news and met with them today.

WELCOMING THE PRIME MINISTER TO BERKELEY

I have talked to the PM a lot about skills and apprenticeship so it was a pleasure to take him to SGS Berkeley Green UTC. He saw for himself how smart and dedicated the students are and what is being achieved alongside businesses.

THE PRIME MINISTER’S VISIT TO SGS BERKELEY GREEN UTC

It was an honour to welcome the Prime Minister to SGS Berkeley Green UTC today.

The PM met with the UTC’s brilliant leadership team and a number of the fantastic students, all who were incredibly impressive.

VISIT TO ST MARY’S CHURCH FRETHERNE

It was a pleasure to visit St Mary’s Church in Fretherne last week and to meet with Churchwarden, Jane Cleaver and architect, David Newton.

St Mary’s is a beautiful church built in the 1840s and is estimated to have been used for worship for over 700 years.

VISIT TO SMITHS

It was brilliant to visit Smiths last week, who are a major employer of hundreds of people from across the whole county, and to receive an update on their future business plans.
