I have talked to the PM a lot about skills and apprenticeship so it was a pleasure to take him to SGS Berkeley Green UTC. He saw for himself how smart and dedicated the students are and what is being achieved alongside businesses.
Without the teaching of STEM subjects, particularly mechanical and electrical engineering, our economy both locally and nationally is going to suffer. Some of the work taking place at the UTC is award winning and they are a brilliant part of our Stroud district education family.
I wanted to show off the area too after our Western Gateway success with the Severn Edge site purchase by Great British Nuclear.
Many thanks to the headteacher Gareth Lister and his staff for inviting the PM and myself. The energy from the students was incredible!
