Healthcare professionals across the Stroud District do a phenomenal job and the NHS Parliamentary Awards are a brilliant opportunity to recognise and thank those staff who go above and beyond.
Parents in Stroud, Nailsworth and Dursley have contacted me about school transport issues as well as our rural village families who have been convening meetings recently. They understand it involves private bus providers so it is not all about the county council.
I recently visited Leonard Stanley Primary School to meet with staff and pupils and to see the worn-out swimming pool that is part of their fundraising appeal.
As you all know, the steps at the station are a nightmare for many people and the alternative of walking down and around via the main road is no better for people who are disabled, elderly or even those with heavy bags or young children.
I have been non-stop pestering the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire team having surveyed residents of Wotton-under-Edge about crime and issues with response times.
I thoroughly enjoyed joining Stroud High School students Eli, Eva and Selin and teacher Peter John at the APPG for Engineering in Parliament recently. I always love welcoming local people up to Westminster!
